File Deletion
I have a couple of folders in Window's Explorer that I cannot delete. Whenever I attempt to delete it says: The folder 2TFSY1I5 is a system folder. If you delete it, "Windows or another program may no longer work correctly. Are you sure you want to delete this folder and move all of its contents to the recycle bin?" Then, when I click "Yes" I get a dialogue box that says, "Cannot delete 38-C-C2. Cannot find the specified file. Make sure you specify the correct path and filename."
This folder is found in: C:/Documents and Settings/Default User.PC000/Local Settings/Temp/Temporary Internet Files/Content.IE5/2TFSY1I5 Theres actually 6 folders I need to delete. What do you think? Thanks. |

I believe these are considered system files and Windows will not let you delete them unless you do the correct things. Internet Explorer creates the names for those folders and hides them in the Content.ie5 folder.
To remove them I believe you have to goto the registry editor and do a search for them and remove them from the registry. Windows should stop looking for them and will stop protecting them which should allow you to delete them once and for all. If it doesnt seem to work, restart your computer then try and delete them. Sometimes the registry changes will take place after the computer is restarted. to access the registry editor goto RUN, found on the Start Menu, and type in regedit. -Be careful, the registry is very picky, one mistake COULD cause your computer problems.- probably best to click on the file menu and Export the registry first (backing it up) before you make any changes. -Have a good day. :) BTW- I use Tracks Eraser Pro 5, it seems to be a very good internet cleaning program that gets rid of those folders as well as the ever-growing index.dat files that also contain your internet surfing information.
