Re: Outlook Express Problem
After you install Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows XP SP1, access to some of your e-mail attachments in Outlook Express may be removed. For example, you may experience any of the following symptoms:
1. When you click the paper clip in the Preview pane, the Save Attachments and file_name commands are unavailable. 2. When you open an e-mail message, the Save Attachments command is unavailable on the File menu, the Attach field is missing from the e-mail message, and the following message is displayed in the message alert bar at the top of the e-mail message: |

Re: Outlook Express Problem
Thank you Outcaste.
Solved the problem! Can you help me with another one? I can't delete mail from the sent mail folder no matter how I try. The mail is piling up. Can you suggest something? |

Re: Outlook Express Problem
Is there anything in the Sent folder you want to save? If so, can you drag it to another folder?
Once there is nothing left to save, the easiest solution is to delete the folder and let Outlook Express create a new, empty Sent Items folder. Close Outlook Express then navigate to the Data store folder. The default path to the Data files is this: Code:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{ GUID}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
In that folder, rename the sent.dbx file to sent.dbx.old Restart OE, and you should have an new empty Sent folder. Local Settings is a hidden folder, so you have to have your system set to display hidden and system files. Or click Start | Run, type "%Userprofile%\Local Settings", press Enter. That will open the Local Settings folder, and you can drill down to the proper folder from there. You can also search for *.dbx files, making sure to check the search option to look in Hidden and System folders. Once you are sure you haven't lost anything you wanted to keep, you can delete the sent.dbx.old file. HTH Jerry
