EEK! networked drives are there.....but are not either

Logging in to the network here at my work which is a novell based network. I am using a toshiba 6100 sattelittle pro with windows 2000 as the OS. When I log in, I get all my drives that are mapped to me, plus internet and e-mail. But in "my computer" all I see are the drives, the letters assigned to them (with no description at all) and a big x on each drive. Just like it was disabled. Remember, I can actually access these drives. I cannot map to any other servers either. This is happening on all my 7 toshiba laptops (all satellite pro 6100) on connections that are good. Is this a windows 2000 problem or a novell? If the latter, I'll go to another forum and stop bugging you. BTW I have the newest client installed as well. Thanks!!!!

You say in My Computer, but you are talking about remote drives (not in that comp) right. I'm not sure what a Sattelittle Pro is (workstation?). If the NOS is Novell its not gonna be Win2K. What are the servers running, if they were Win2K servers set up as in a Domain...I need to see the whole picture..to put two cents in.:|

A satellite pro is a Toshiba laptop. Sorry, I should have mentioned that, my fault. The laptop has w2k as an operating system but uses novell client to hook up to the novell servers to get all the drive mappings, etc. Anyway, I found the problem. The so called "newest client version" of novell that another system admin put on the network wasn't actually the newest. So I downloaded the newest client and installed it and that fixed the problem. So I guess it was a novell problem, sorry for putting it in the win2000/nt forum. Thanks for the help.

P.S. Its my name and you'll never, ever have it :) After all I really did have a red beard when I thought of that name.
