[SOLVED] problems after W2K re-install
First, I re-installed W2K and the direct X download http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...a-5c15d1d7199d doesn't seem to me to be installed. I do not know how to tell. I downloadedit, openedit and agreed to the eula, then it opned a windowasking meto choose a path so I placed it on the desktop. when it loaded it wasjust a bunch of dated folders.
did I choose the correct location to installit? is it installed? should I choose another location to install it? second the machine does not shut all the way offanylonger. I shutsdown to it is now ok to turnoff your computer but the machine keeps running. It usedto shut all the way off. ? |

Re: problems after W2K re-install
Ok it's installing. I had to reload it apparently the first time I opened it it was corrupted.
The other issue of it not shutting all the way down was fixed by me shutting off Automatic updates and using manually the MS update link in Start. It downloaded the Rollup 1 for SP4 and now that works. So It seems solved. I'll come back and mark the thread when It finishes loading DirectX. Thank You KrisInFla and Blah79 |
