help on Lan Networking
I need help. I have a LAN network with my son. We were both using windows 2000 pro, and everything worked we could access each others computer. I updated his computer to Vista ultimate. I’ve set both computer to share, we are both on the same workgroup, I’ve checked that both computers are correctly named. When I go to my network places both computers are shown, but when I click on my sons Icon I get, \\Noraa is not accessible. Login failure: account currently disabled. Can anyone tell me where I’m going wrong thanks Kelvin

Re: help on Lan Networking
Vista has advanced security measures that are in effect during sharing. Vista requires that the host computer have an account that has the same name and password as the accessing Vista computer. Additionally Vista may require that the host computer be at least XP.

Re: help on Lan Networking
I'll bet that the user account you are using on the Win2K system is the Administrator account. The Administrator account is disabled by default on Vista and can give that error.
Usually it says the specified user has not been granted the requested logon type You can either enable the Vista Administrator account (make sure it has a password), or create a new account on the Win2K box with the same name and password as an existing account on the Vista system
