Hello. Im having a huge problem. I'm running Windows 2000 Professional. I do not know what happened but my laptop is having so many problems. I cannot open Program files, for some reason they are not linked together. Is there a way to fix this without download a .zip file because I cannot open them either. I have read many threads on this topic and everyone keeps getting the "download this zip files" I have tried many of times to download this but it will not open because my setup.exe files is not connected to the right program. All the pictures are generic and I have to use the "open with" command to open any of my program files. Can anyone help me with this problem? If there is a way to format my hard drive it would be great because I have a Windows XP cd that I can install. I lost my 2000 cd. What else... oh and I cannot open my System link from control panel. It keeps saying access denied. I also tried downloading Windows XP from reboot screen. (F2) And I have tried downloading it from the main screen but my setup files is... not connected. So many things gone wrong. I am completely lost. I am pretty good with computers but not that good. Can ANYONE figure this one out?

Re: Huge program problem
Welcome to TSF!
Download the attached file to your desktop Rename it by changing the .txt extension to .reg Right click the file, and click Merge You'll get a confirmation prompt (Click Yes), then a success prompt (hopefully) If your system is not set to show extensions, you won't be able to rename it. In that case do this: Right click the file, click Open With... Click Other... Browse to the WINNT folder (or Windows if yours is named Windows) Select regedit.exe and click Open Make sure the check box for Always use this program to open these files is unchecked Click OK You'll get a confirmation prompt (Click Yes), then a success prompt (hopefully) Jerry
