Received a machine that was upgraded from 98 to 2000 Prof. The problem is that every time the B's Gold CD software is run it takes both Cd drives out of setup and gives a registry 19 error code.
I tried correcting the problem by editing the registry, and by upgrading with SP2 express to no avail.
My next plan is to try to un-install 2000 but first I must backup the pertinent info on the hard drive. There used to be a way to hook up two machines together with a null modem but I haven't done it in years. Is this still possible? The two machines are a 1gig
Dell running Millenium and a 333PII running 2000 Prof. Any info would be appreciated. Thanx.

If you can find a program called lap link you should be able to copy the data with a null modem cable.
