i am running windows 2000 on all my client machines and 2000 server on my server machine. now when i reboot my 2000 machine client when it gets to the screen applying settings it jsut hangs for ever. then it finaly gets to the logon screen. now i type in my password and once again it takes for ever to get in
any ideas please let me know it is also screwing up my web browser takes for every to connect and i am not using the computer as a gateway. and also i am running one windows 98 mahine and there is no problem there thanks mike |

Turn off the 'Computer Browser" service on all Win2K systems except for one. The one that continues to run the service will become the Master Browser.

Need more info. What are you running small home network, sm med or big company? Do you have an Active Directory Domain? How are you resolving IPs to computers, DNS, DHCP,(WINS)? The older 98 machine is using WINS and the (smarter) Win2k unit are trying to use a service thats not configured properly.
