[SOLVED] Msconfig

I was going to look to see what startup programs i could disable on my laptop but i realized that i can't use Msconfig with windows 2000. I was wondering what utility do you use that is the equivalent to msconfig?

Re: Msconfig

Windows 2000 indeed doesn't have msconfig, but someone in another thread suggested copying the XP binaries would work. Can't vouch for it because I haven't tried it, but it's something to attempt.

He didn't mention which version works either (the one with XP without SP, XP SP1, XP SP2, or XP SP3)

Re: Msconfig

Yeah I've already tried this but it only shows two programs running at start up which i know that there is more than that.

Re: Msconfig

I've used msconfig on Win2k SP2 and SP4 with no problems, using version 5.1.2600.2180, which is the SP2 version I believe.

You can see what's running from System Info:
Right click My Computer, click Manage
Under System Tools navigate to here:
System Information | Software Environment | Startup Programs

Startup Control Panel also works with Win2K.
