I have aTrendnet wirless PC card IEEE 802.11g / 2.4GHz
TEW.421PC H/W:B1 Have downloaded the driver but keeps cpming up with error code31. Have had the card for over year, but initially it worked ( but slowly ) then stopped. I think the card is OK. I also have a Mentor wireless card which is WLG-PCM/11 which looks identical to above except the lable. Cannot get into the configuration / setup panel on either. One time the system stated that everyting was OK, but was not picking up. Any advise would be gratfully welcome |

Re: error code 31
Its been a long time since I used Win2000, but as I recall, the Windows driver signing was not auto matic, which means that any 3rd party software could overwrite Windows drivers. This is an excellent opportunity for incompatibility issues.
Goto Control Panel>System>Hardware and click the "Driver Signing" button. Click on the "Warn" radio button, click OK, close all windows, reboot. Go back into Control Panel>System>Hardware and click "Device Manager." Click on each component and select properties to re-install the devices driver.

Re: error code 31
Thanks for the reply, must admit it was very fast.
My problem was solved before I received your message, because a friend of a friend came round last night & it took him 15min to sort it. I do not have a clue as to what was done, as he was just flicking around. Thanks again for you reply, & will keep it safe just in case in the future. Thanks Terrywh |
