dell optiplex says NTLDR missing
Hi; i have a dell optiplex gx 150 W/win 2000 pro ,win NT workstation 4.0 ,windows 98work station,it won't boot it just say's missing NTLDR how do i fix this problem? i don't know if this is enough info or not.

Normally this is due to a corrupted installation of the operating system or a change in the location of the system drive. Have you changed any hardware lately?

no changes were made if i recall correctly it started slowing down, and after a couple of days I defraged compress files and deleted temp internet files then nothing on restart.

NTLDR simply means that the bios cant see the boot sector of the harddrive.
Could be a corrupt boot or a dead harddrive.(or loose/faulty IDE cable) If you have a boot disk or the O/S disk to boot from and see if it can see the harddrive? If so you may be able to run repair but quicker to change the harddrive and/or reload system. |
