Random Reboots... Can someone read these .dmp files for me?
Hey everyone!
I have a Windows 2000 machine with random reboots. The event view mentions that the machine crashes during a bugcheck. I've checked both the memory (memtest) and the disk (chkdsk), both of which seem fine. However the machine reboots frequently, creating a .dmp file each time. I can't read them... Problem with the symbols. I downloaded the symbols and set the path in the checkdump CL utility... No dice. I must be doing something wrong, but I can't figure it out. Could it be that I'm trying to read them on an XP machine (even though I've downloaded the 2k diagnostic symbol pack, and tried the public symbol site) I've attached the dmp files from yesterday's crashing fun (crashes often, I know!). It's been doing this for quite a while. If any one can read these .dmp files, It would be super mega awesome to me! If you can offer some analysis you'll be my hero! ![]() Thanks in advance! P.S. If you have any other suggestions or insight, I'd greatly appreciate it! |

Re: Random Reboots... Can someone read these .dmp files for me?
Have you tried "Safe Mode?"
If after trying safe mode there is no problem, somewhere there's a compatibility issue, or corrupt file/driver. Also, try to retrace when this started happening... after software/hadrware install? After internet. If this doesn't work, let me know we can try a few other things.

Thanks for the reply!
The machine works just fine in safe mode. It does seem to be a corrupt driver, but I've gone through and reinstalled as many as I could think of. This machine has been running an sql driven database for quite some time now and nothing has been added or removed from the system. :( |
