OS: win 2000 pro


Desktop item and startup bar are missing

I recently updated my MS window 2000 pro. After update i don't see desk top items or startup bar. Aslo, right click for the mouse is not working. When i start computer i try to go into my set by pressing F2 or F8 keys but that also not alow me to go. I try to start computer in safe mode but i do not now how. Right now i can use only task manager to use programs. Pl. help me Thanks

When you got the Task Manager on the screen, click on file>New Task(Run..) and type in explorer.exe and see if it makes any difference. If it doesn't check this link out

Steps mentioned in above link will roll back your updates and you'd have to run updates later.
