Windows Installer Failure

All:

For some reason my Office 2000 Pro has gotten fouled up. When I go to open any of the apps I get a message telling me that it needs to be re-installed from the original disk. I go to do that and it hangs at the installer loading. Then I get a message stating that Windows Installer failed to load.

I have re-installed all the windows files to no avail....can anyone help, I am really trying to avoid having to FORMAT the drive.

Thanks,

Jeff
