Folder names

If you have a long folder or file name, then it shows all the text when the folder has focus, but reduces it 1 or 2 lines when it does not.

Is there a way to have all the text of the folder name showing all the time?

I dont think so but I may be wrong. I think its just Windows way of keeping things clean and organized.
