On a win2000 pc, I have one user account that encounters weird problems and I know it's a matter of recreating
that user profile: some of his programs would close for no reason with his profile...but would not with other user profiles (on that same PC of course)...that same user looses configs of some of his programs for no reason...etc.. Now, the traditional method of recreating a profile is deleting his "C:\Documents and Settings\his_username ", let him log on on windows again..and a new profile is generated...but with this method, all his programs looses his password histories and some have to be reconfigured. Is there a way to recreate his profile by avoiding all these inconveniences.. and just by pointing to his specific issues. For example, he has just 1 application that closes for no reason as soon as you try to print from it (but would work fine in same circumstances from other user accounts on that same PC) and another application that keeps loosing his configs (sometimes that user would log on and it would not loose it's configs..sometimes it would..and that's the case just with that user profile...no such issue when an another user logs on)... I've heard about load hive from the regedit...If that's a way to solve this, could anyone tell me how to work with it in this specific case. Thanks. |
