permission setting question

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and hope someone can help me about this question.

I try to use win 2000 pro to setup a file server for 4-5 users. I have partion a logical drive so i can map it to each of the user as a network drive. There are folders for each of the user in the drive. Everyone can read and copy others folders content but can only change the files in their own folders.

First I share those folders and set permission for each users, it is working. But when I share the whole drive in order to map it in their computers, it doesn't work.

If anyone did something like this before or know how, please help me out.

thank you.

When you share the whole drive, right click it, select properties, go to premissions and change it so all users have full access to the entire drive.
