Movie attachments and streaming music will not play
I have an old (10 - 12 years) Dell Dimension XPS T550 with Windows 2000 Pro and 768 MB memory. I can play music from my CD ROM drive but can not play movies sent to me as attachments, nor streaming audio. When I try to do either the machine locks up and I have to re-boot, even though I have Windows Media Player installed.

Re: Movie attachments and streaming music will not play
You need codecs in order to play the video and hear the sound.
I like coles codecs, k-lite codec pack is another good option. Do a google, free downloads, for coles just use standard. Works for me.
