Re: chkdsk utility

Boot from the installation CD, go to the repair console, at the command line type:
CHKDSK C: /R

My System

Re: chkdsk utility

I had this exact same problem this weekend. The entire FS became unreadable shortly (~15 minutes) after I connected my system to the internet (ethernet to router)

How do you go to the repair console? I tried looking for it, but I have no idea how to get there in the Windows 2000 CD.

Is this a new worm? lol I hope not.

Re: chkdsk utility

If you boot from the CD you'll be prompted to either REPAIR or INSTALL and the repair option will get you to the repair console.

Re: chkdsk utility

I never get that option, even with XP. Is it before Windows Setup starts loading drivers or after?
