New Drive Assigned to F: not C:
Hi - can't tell how many times I have loaded an OS onto a new drive, never saw this before: Only device on primary IDE channelis a IDE HD, a cd/w and dvd on secondary IDE, and a SCSI HD that I plan to use for the pagefile. The IDE drvice is newly wiped. Setup 2000 offers to setup on C:, but I have to format it. When I select Format NTFS it begins formatting the drive as F: - I end up with A: floppy, D: cd/w, E: dvd, F: IDE and G: SCSI. This has happened three times. If I do a complete reinstall I get what I expected = A: Floppy, C: IDE, D: SCSI, E: cd/w and F: dvd. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this strange behaviour?
