Boot up error
Hi, just a few months ago I reinstalled my Win2000 OS and encountered a problem which is still with me today. During boot up you are prompted to select which operating system you want to use. it has 2 choices but both are the same, i.e Windows 2000 Professional. When I choose 1) it boots up fine but if I was to choose 2) it goes to a blue screen which has an error message and asks to run chkdsk /f to scan for errors. I never seen this before I reinstalled the OS again. Can anybody tell me how to go about fixing this?
Help is much appreciated |

Sounds like you have multiple entries in your boot.ini file.

Right click on My Computer, Properties, Advanced, Startup & Recovery. Select the correct O/S in the drop-down and uncheck the "Display list of O/S for xx seconds" box. This will always boot the one you pick, and is the simplest way to get rid of the prompt.
