No Internet Access after 07-08-08 Windows Update
Hi all,
I'm having a problem after installing the July 8, 2008 Windows Update to my Windows 2000 Pro SP4 box. Symptoms: Unable to download or display http pages, unable to connect FTP servers, etc. I checked I.P. config and can ping local DSL router as well as external server such as www.google.com. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling my NIC via the device manager (solution to a similar problem encountered on an XP box by another person). I know that DNS was one of the updates in the July 8 update. Any suggestions for resolving this? I have another Windows 2000 Pro SP4 box that I haven't installed the update on that still works fine on the same network with the same configuration (except for I.P. address obviously.). Thanks, Calvin |

Additional: I should point out that I can not load the http configuration page for my local DSL router even though it responds to pings just fine.
