Internet Explorer 6.0
My Internet Explorer 6.0 is no longer working. One day it just stopped. I was having some problems with Pop-Ups and Spyware and am thinking that the software I was using to get rid of these also got rid of something that ran Internet Explorer. This is the message that appears when I try to open a website through Internet Explorer:
res://C:\WINNT\system32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm#http://www.msn.com I no longer have the Pop-Up software but, I think it was Spyware Doctor. I am currently using Mozilla Firefox but, do not like it. Several of the websites that I visit only work with Internet Explorer. Also, the pages do not always load completely using Mozilla. Please Help! Thank you! jeni16 |

Download WinsockFix and unzip it. Then double-click on it to run it.
If that doesn't help, then...... Please download HijackThis. Create a folder at C:\HJT and move HijackThis.exe there. Run a scan and save the log file. Post the whole log file here. Do not fix anything since most of them listed there are harmless (some are system required). This program will help us determine if there is any spyware/malware on your computer.

Thank You!
That worked.
Thank you very much for your help. This is a great service that you offer. Our regular tech support person had informed me that I would have to completly erase my hard drive and start over for it to work again. What a relief to know that I won't have to do that. jeni16
