Can't get CD/DVD up after restore
HI - I had a box fully backed up using MS Backup. It died and I replaced the box and, after installing Win 2K, SP4, and all updates to date, I used MS Backup to perform a restore. The new box has different CD/DVD and now they don't work. Computer Manager/Device manager see them, but they aren't functioning, so no drive letters are assigned. Uninstall and reinstall of devices fails to resolve. Download and install of new drivers fails (the driver install process from driverguide requires them to be assigned a drive letter.) Apart from this, the restore was remarkably successful. My only idea is to use my Win2K floppies/CD to attempt a repair, but that will roll back the OS and I'll have to redo the SP4 and all the updates. Does anyone have a better idea for me? Thanks - Dane
