How to Uninstall Win 2000/NT Prof. Lost CD

Can someone please help...
After pc was highjacked by Klounada and infested with virus ,I downloaded
Spy wares and adwares which cleaned the sys.but in the process Win is now pretty much worthless, runs super slow, freezez, missing reg keys files etc.
I cannot not find the CD .I would like to install Win XP or maybe even 98 SE
(I have both) but don't know how to wipe out Win NT.
Thank you all

Hi,

You should be able to go into Start, My computer, then right click on the drive you wish to clean via a format and select format. That will clean the OS off that drive. Hope you do know that you will lose all data off that drive.

With hard drives as cheap as thet are now, why not just drop 40 bucks on a 40 gig drive, replace your old one with it and load the OS. Then set the old drive jumper to "slave", reinstall it, and after you clean out the stuff you don't want, you can always get to your old files on what's now your D drive.

If you don't like the idea of opening he case, then just boot to a floppy and delete your windows directory from within DOS (DEL C:\windows\*.* .
Afterward, when you reinstall your programs, you can reuse your old settings if you rerinstall to the same directories although it sometimes takes a little research to find out where they're been saved. If you have a ntfs file system you'll need an ntfs boot disk which you can get at http://www.ntfs.com/products.htm.

If you reformat, you'll have to export and save your email archives, favorites list, and data to a cd first if you want to keep them. But you do that regularly anyway, right ;-)

If you haven't overwritten your install yet you can get the Magical Jellybean and it will read your CD key.
