Key Repeat rate slow down
Hi,
Need advise from the expert here. I have extremely no idea, or cannot remember what have I done to my Office PC using W2K Pro OS. Out of the blue, the key repeat rate suddenly slow down. I read from some where that it may be due to Google toolbar in Explorer, so I have uninstalled it, I even uninstall the Yahoo Toolbar. After I have restarted my PC, the key repeat rate appears to be normal, but after I opened up a number of applications, the key repeat rate slow down again. No matter how many applications I have closed, and left with only 1 application, the key repeat rate will not go back to normal, until I restart my PC again. Please advise what should I do in order to get my Office back to normal again. Thanks. Regards. |

Re: Key Repeat rate slow down
Sounds like the computer is running at 100% due to something. When the key rate is slow, hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and look at the task manager. If you go to the PERFORMANCE tab see if the CPU is running at 100%. If it is, click on PROCESSES and see which one is taking up the most CPU cycles. You can sort the list by clicking on the label CPU and that should sort them like a spreadsheet. You may have to click on it again to see the highest number at the top.

Re: Key Repeat rate slow down
I encountered the issue again. The CPU usage is very, very low at that time, about 0%, and the ram used is about 50% to 60%. It occurred after it is idea for quite a long while, and it is locked. The key repeat slow rate will never go away until I restart the computer.
