win 2k continually reboots

I have a lap top here that belongs to my husbands boss. He is running Win 2k and it continually reboots never loading windows. It will not load up in safe mode or any other way. We need to try to bring this computer up to get data off of it before we restore the system. Have tried booting with a win 2k disk and it does not work. He is unable to find his win 2k disk that came with the lap top.
Any help would bee appreciated.

If you do find the disk you can boot to the CD and select the repair option.

There are several viruses and some ad ware that can cause that to happen. If so repair should work.

There are a few other things that it could be, but starting there is what I would do.

You could try booting it in safe mode. Hit F8 a bunch of times as the BIOS completes it's POST and before Windows starts to load, select Safe Mode.
