Put tool bars back on bottom

I'm getting worn out with this stuff.

I was adjusting a media player and the toolbars normally on the
bottom flipped up to one side.

I don't know how to even look up such an error in a Win2k book.

All the right clicking is not finding a repair to put these back on the bottom.

help is appreciated.

Re: Put tool bars back on bottom

move the mouse cursor to a blank spot somewhere in the middle of the toolbar (now at one side of the screen). hold down left mouse button and drag the cursor down to the bottom of the screen. let go the button when the toolbar is back down at the bottom. done.

Ok. I think I almost bent my wrist out of shape trying that but I'll give it another whirl.

Thanks for responding.

Not quite out of the woods yet.

Somehow I have my desktop icons stuck in the task bar now. I cannot delte them or I lose them.

I don't know the language in help or the commands to look this up for myself.

Task bar, tool bar. To me it all looks alike. And right now it looks wrong.

I want to restore the original stuff at the bottom of the screen and nothing else. Last night I went through help to try to find this but
I failed. This is a fresh install and there's no customization whatsoever:
just a few shortcuts in the task/tool whatevs bar for Firefox, Outlook
and a USB device.

How do people do this stuff? It's not very intuitive and it's real easy to screw up.

I need to restore.

thanks.

Re: Put tool bars back on bottom

I helped myself on this-- which I do when I can.

The desktop stuff in the tool bar can be eliminated by unchecking
the desktop when opening the toolbar prompts.

Then I had to put a check mark in quick launch to get my small
icons of shortcuts back.

By the time I need this again I will have forgotten it. Last time I had the
start menu on the side problem was in Win98.
