Haveing trouble installing

Ok so I have a Toshiba Tecra 8000 that I am trying to install Windows 2000 Pro onto.

With the cd in the computer at bootup.

It says:

To boot from cd press any key..

So I do then it says this:

I'd say that there's an issue with the hardware of the laptop and I'd be inclined to say that it's RAM.

Well, I have an OS on it right now which is XP home, works just too much for the computer to handle.

Why? would it be the ram
I have 128 in it now

Because sometimes the installers can access different areas of memory and that can cause the error and just because you have an OS installed on it doesn't mean there's not an error. I'm simply offering help based on my experience.
