No internet via wireless LAN
My wireless LAN accesses the internet through a modem/router.
This works fine for a PC and a laptop, but I have now tried connecting a second laptop, using a Netgear 511 card. This second laptop is accessing the home network with maximum signal strength, but for some reason cannot access the internet. I have tried both IE and Firefox, but neither will connect. The second laptop has no virus checker (currently) installed, and is running Windows 2000. The TCP/IP settings on this second laptop are set to default (i.e. obtain address automatically) as is the case for the PC and the first laptop (both of which are running XP Pro). Any suggestions as to how to enable internet access on this second laptop? ![]() |
