hard drive filesystem prob

OS: win2kpro
AMD Athlon 2700+
MSI K7N2 Delta nForce 2 mobo
Samsung 160gig hard drive [NTFS]
GeForce FX5700LE (piece of ****)

Hi, I left my lil bro to decrypt and burn some dvd's and I went out, when I got back he said he had gotten bored so he wanted to play pinball and after a few secs into it everything froze and eventually the screen went black. Apart from wasting a dvd the hard drive also got screwd up. I just cant seem to free up any space. I had about 1gig free so after properly burnin the dvd my bro had decrypted i deleted the decrypted files to free up space but it still said I only have 1gig free. Whats goin on here?? My hard drive is partitioned like so:

C: System 10 gig
D: Storage 117gig
E: 20gig

If i select all the files in drive D, it says they are about 100gig alltogether, but if I look at the My Computer pie graph thing it says used: 116 free:1, I cant add more than 1gig into D anymore and if I delete file from there the free space initially goes up but then next time I start up the pc it goes back down to 1gig. I ran scan disk on both drives C and D and now the same thing is happening on drive C!! I had about 750meg free on there and me and my friend were talkin about it and then after restarting it went down to about 60megs even tho we werent adding any files or anything. Anyone have any idea what I could do to fix this? Any help appreciated, Nemo.

First just try to defrag D:
Then check to see where your pagefile.sys is located. You an adjust the size of this file if it is exteremly large. I could very well be on your C: drive. It is used for virtual memory by your system. You can adjust it via right click on my computer - Properties - Advanced Tab I believe. You can get away with your VM being 1.5 times your RAM.
Maybe this will get you started in the right direction.

Hi again, something really weird happened and i couldnt boot into windows anymore, i couldnt even get to the login screen, the starting up bar fills up to the end and thats it the hard drive stops. I couldnt boot in safe mode either and restoring good known config also didnt work. I tryed reseting bios but eventually i just got bored and installed xp. Now at least i can use my pc, drive C is fine now but D is still saying i have around 1 gig free when i know it should be over 10gig free, its very irritating. I have paging file set to 768-~1500 on drive C which is fine bcoz since installing xp on there i still have 5gig free. Is it better to put some paging file usage on each virtual drive or just leave it as is? I found that i cant defragment D..it says it needs like 15% or sumtin free to work properly, but thats ok ill just delete a bunch of stuff..i think if non of this is gonna work i should just format D: and that should probably fix it but i dont really wanna loose and of my files..
