Fatal system error on startup

Hi --

I recently purchased a Toshiba laptop from Best Buy. It's still under warranty and everything, but I wanted to see if I could troubleshoot it on my own to save the hassle of taking it in.

The computer recently installed a Windows update. When I went to restart it this morning, it stopped about halfway through the startup procedure.

The screen turns blue, and it says:

STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000135 {0x00000000 0x00000000}
The system has been shut down.

Does anyone by chance know what's wrong with my computer? Or, alternatively, is there a way to boot it directly from my Windows NT CD and just reformat my system?

Thank you in advance!
