Setup 2000 Pro to talk to XP Home on Ethernet LAN
04/12/08 9:10 AM CT
Ethernet Local Area Network: While running the Network Setup Wizard on the HOST Windows XP Home Edition computer you are directed to burn a setup disk for the CLIENT computer, which I did. The only problem is the XP Home Edition LAN setup data will not transfer from the XP Home Edition created disk to the Windows 2000 Professional computer. I don’t know what data to get out of the XP Home Edition LAN setup process that must be entered into the 2000 Pro computer in Administrator mode. When I set the 2000 Pro to get IP address automatically it still won't talk to the HOST. I suspect it has something to do with IPs but I don't know which to enter where. I have my IPS Server IP if that matters... Question, what do I have to do to connect a Windows 2000 Professional CLIENT computer to a Windows XP Home Edition Host computer on an Ethernet Local Area Network? Thanks, Al albarrs@wfeca.ent |
