Arrow I think something wipe my registisy

Hi everybody ...
Well ... It happen like this ... last night I was in a hurry to shut down ... windows media was running as well as Firefox ... I merely allow windows to shut it all down ...

... this morning when I boot up I get a message about unable to log me in or something to that effect ... while windows was loading ... which should not happen ... I don't log in on boot up ... after it booted up everything as be set to default ... my webshot program was corrupted ... when I open up my email it was like I just installed the program and had to re-configure everything ... same with IE 6 and Firefox ... all my bookmarks gone!

... slowly I am putting everything back as it was ... of course system restore didn't work ... that's why I have to piece everything back ... I did a scan with AVG ... no virus ... I use Norton System Works ... 2002 ... to check everything ... had it fix all errors ...

So anyone have any idea what the hell happen ... and will all the work I've done be wipe clean again when I shut down the system?
