Windows 2000 Professional Setup - Missing or corrupt file (txtsetup.sif)
OK, so i got the blue screen of death, yes, the dreaded INACCESSABLE_BOOT_DEVICE :O
I've had some expert advice, which was to format my drive and create a set of boot disks. The only problem is when I load the disk, it says 'Press F6 if you need to install a RAID or SCSI driver' and then in the center of the screen, it says: ''INF file txtsetup.sif is missing or corrupt. Setup Can not continue. Press any key to exit" Mind you, the file is on the floppy disk. It is not on the compact disk and I have tried creating more floppy disks, but all that comes up is ''I/O ERROR" whenever I try to boot it. Can anyone solve this problem? Also, before I formatted the drive using the Windows 98 FDISK utility, I could not load in safe mode or any other alternate method on the list. If it helps, I am running a Dell Optiplex GX260 with an Intel Pentium 4 1.8gHZ processor, 512MB of ram and a linksys wireless network adaptor. I do have a Windows 2000 Setup Disk (non-bootable), an HP Pavillion recovery CD (from the late 1990s) and a Windows 98 Boot Disk (no W98 CD-ROM) |

Re: Windows 2000 Professional Setup - Missing or corrupt file (txtsetup.sif)
see if your 98 disk will boot again.also see if your non bootable 2000 setup disc has the 4 disk utilitiy on it.this is usually a floppy drive error.
