Reinstalled Win2K Pro.
I have a Dell Latitude laptop and it has been given me a fit with the blue screen coming up. I have been in numerous chats with Dell and finally they sent a tech to replace the RAM and motherboard. Later in the day the thing would not even boot. I chatted with them again and they said to reinstall and reformat the HDD. I did and now I think I screwed the thing up. The 6 icons now on the desktop are as big as my fist, the color is messed up and I cannot adjust the resolution.
Any ideas? I do have the Driver and Utilities disk, do I need to run that or what? ![]() |

Re: Reinstalled Win2K Pro.
Sounds like you are missing the Video Adaptor driver . . you can find the newest one on the Dell Support site, but it should also be on your driver disc

Re: Reinstalled Win2K Pro.
I haven't run that disk yet so I will run it when I get home. We finished up doing the reinstall late last night and I was so mad I just had to get away from that machine.
Thanks. |

Re: Reinstalled Win2K Pro.
I tried to run the drivers and utilities disk but it was not the correct one. I contacted Dell and the tech pushed the drivers that I needed. They all worked to some degree with some additional software needed, like installing Win. Installer 3.1 and sp3.
