Cannot Log In - Registry Issue
I'm running Windows 2000 Pro on a home-built late 90's MSI desktop. It is part of a local domain that has internet access. The problem is no users can log in unless it is in safe mode. If anyone tries to log in, we get the following error message:
"Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service." The message is displayed as a small countdown timer ticks down from 30 in the lower right hand corner of the box and then another message appears, also with a countdown timer of 30 seconds: "Windows cannot load your profile. Please increase the registry size and restart the computer." It then takes us back to the default Windows 2000 screen in which we have to hit CTRL+ALT+DEL to get to the login screen. Can anyone tell me what to do? Can I somehow fix this by logging into safe mode? |
