two w2k installations on one machine
hope the titel is not misleading. my question is as follows:
there are two harddisks in my pc, both configured as master on ide1/2 . the system partition is on harddisk one on drive C: . i backup C: using symantec drive image 2002 on a regular basis. to check if the backups are ok, i restore them to drive J: on the 2nd harddisk. right now the system 'knows' (BIOS) that it should boot from harddisk one, i.e. that the system partition is C: . would it be possible to boot from harddisk two, i.e. partition J: instead? (either with harddisk1 still active in the PC or with harddisk1 removed from the PC) would the drive letters look different then (J: -> C:)? would the system behave as before? thank you in advance! |

Not exactly sure if it will boot from the second hard drive, but if anything goes wrong why don't you just copy that image back? It will restore it back to the same phase as the second hard drive.
