Help with Windows 2000

I have deleted a file for windows 2000 due to a virus and now i can't boot up my computer with 2000. I have the disk but cannot figure out how to get my laptop to boot first from the cd-rom. Can someone please help?
Thanks so much

Re: Help with Windows 2000

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
On some laptops it will give you a boot option. If not you will have to access the BIOS or setup menu. This is usually done by hitting the DEL or F2 key when you first bootup the laptop. If you could please provide the make and model.
Thanks,
Bill

Re: Help with Windows 2000

Hi Jenn,
Here is a manual for your machine:
http://bizsupport.austin.hp.com/bc/d.../c01122797.pdf
Look at section 2.1. It list a boot option (Multi boot) to set bootable devices.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Bill
