I have to rename a file every day and I was wondering if there is a way to automate it with a batch file. I am moderately proficient with batch files but I need some help. First of all I have a file with a name that we will say temp. In another directory I have files named 01022008 vabcbs03.clm, 01032008 vabcbs04.clm, 01042008 vabcbs05.clm etc. I need to grab the most current vabcbs##.clm increment it by one and then rename the file with that name. So if today is 01/10/2008 I would go to the folder find 01092008 vabcbs10.clm and then rename my temp file vabcbs11.clm. Another thing is I need to check and make sure that the vabcbs does not go above 100 i.e. if vabcbs99.clm was the day before I go back to vabcbs01.clm. Any help is appreciated thanks.
