services
Is there anyway that I can start and stop a service without going through the command line, or 'services'?
Primarily concerned with punkbuster, I don't play too often, so normally have them set to 'manual' and they only -sometimes- start with the game, so what I'd like to be able is have a bat file etc that could start them and then the game in one or two clicks. I've seen a lot of programs that start a service when opened, so know it's feasable but every search I do for services uses the services window. Thanks Ken |

Re: services
Thanks, that does work, but I am looking for a method that can be done through a desktop shortcut.
tried a .bat file using that and it doesn't seem to work as I hoped. Thanks again, do apreciate the response Ken. |

Re: services
Thanks a lot for the offer! Been playing with it for a while, everything I've tried doesn't make a difference, but other than cobbling up a couple files for routine tasks, and getting rid of outlook and messenger on new installs, it's been since dos 5.0 that I've realy messed with bat files seriously
Here are the names: PnkBstrA PnkBstrB and the file locations: C:\WINNT\system32\PnkBstrA.exe C:\WINNT\system32\PnkBstrB.exe no dependancies listed for them. Thanks again Ken. |
