This problem began last night. I had just changed web pages when I received message box stating some error. It went away pretty fast so I don't remember what it said. A little later my pc rebooted on its own.
Now, whenever I start up the pc with the dsl modem turned on it will reboot after getting part way through the startup process. If I leave the modem off, the pc will boot up ok and seems to be fine. The problem is, that when I turn the modem on, I get a message saying the network was found and about 20 seconds later my pc reboots. I checked the event log and found the following: "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was 0x0000001e (0xc0000005, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). Microsoft Windows 2000 {v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: c:\winnt\minidump\mini111307.dmp" I see other errors in the log as well: "The TrueVector Internet Monitor service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion." "Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the TrueVector Internet Monitor service to connect." "The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: PCIIde" I am running Webroot Spysweeper, Zone Alarms Security Suite (though I am using an older version of Norton for virus protection) |

Re: When I turn on my dsl modem my pc reboots.
Also added on to Chevy's suggestion I would like you to go to in Windows Explorer:
C:\Windows\Minidump I would like you to take all of the files in that folder and put it into a Zip folder. Afterwards upload that Zip to the TSF Servers so I may read them and find out exactly what is causing this issue from the DMP files. |
