Pin Re: Exception: access violation (0xc0000005)

Hello Everyone,

I have been experiencing this same problem for years! The machine I run into the problem is an NT4 Server with SP6. I am also running IIS 4.0 on this machine and it provides INet to my internal network via Proxy Server 2.0, until this problem crops up. When it happens, it also brings down any Web Servers I have running and Web Proxy server. It does not bring down the WinSock Proxy server. The internal machines are not affected, if their Internet Explorers are NOT set to use the proxy server, thus forcing them to use the WinSock Proxy Server instead. I do have one XP Pro machine out of two that is able to do this, but the other becomes unable to use the WWW after Inetinfo.exe crashes on the server.

And for the record, this problem has nothing to do with Excel 97 or any other Office application.

Has anyone ever found a fix for this problem?
