I've loast all sound!

Hi all

Last night half way through playing some mpeg's I lost all sound. I've checked all connections and they are all secure and re-booted but still nothing. I have AC97 onboard sound so it can't be a duff/loose sound card?

Any ideas.

Mark

do you show a speaker icon by your clock. If yes double click and make sure that is is not on mute. If you do not reinstall your sound drivers

Yep I've had to re-install drivers and it's fixed it. While I'm on the subject of audio how do I specify what applications I want to open what audio/visual files I have. For example I want Windows Media Player to open all mpegs, avis, movies etc and Winamp to open all mps, wave,cd etc. I've just updated Real player and now it wants to open everything but it is so bloody slow!!

Cheers guys

I was going to suggest reinstalling your sound drivers, but see you already did it. Had the same thing happen to me once too.

Have a good one,

Laffcx
