Network server protection....

At our school we have a Win2K machine acting as a file server. Within the network drive (G) I have roughly 10 folders and each of those have sub-folders and on and on....which hold the students files.
The issue is that one particular grade has their file folder either moved or certain files in that folder moved nearly every class time (which is once a week).
My question is: How can I catch the little rascals doing it? , Can I lock down any of the folders with a password that I can un-lock just before class? , Or do I have any options?

You can set permissions on the folders.

That sounds like a good idea. How do I go about doing that???

I jumped the gun a little bit on that one. In a Domain Environment you can set permissions on a folder. I do not believe this can be done in a workgroup. If the files reside in a NTFS partition, you can encrypt the folders so no one has access to them but the owner.

If you have passwords set on the computers, you can usually set the event log to show what user has logged into the computer.
