I'm running Windows 2000 and using dual monitors. Today while my wife was on the internet a large empty grey area or box appeared in the center and lower half of both screens. The icons on the desktop do not seem to be affected by it but part of the picture on my desktop is hidden by it and changing the picture does not make it go away. I can not move or delete it and have run spybot and Ad-Aware but they did not find anything. Internet explorer and everything else on my computer seem to work fine but the large grey area will not go away even after rebooting several times. I also ran CleanUp but it did not change anything. Do you know how to delete get rid of it? Thankyou

large grey area on my desktop problem solved
I'm no computer expert but I believe I solved my own problem. I right clicked on my desktop then chose "Active Desktop" then unclicked "Lock Desktop Items" then an X apeared in the top right corner of the large grey area, like it was a web page, I then clicked it and the page went away. Thank you
