I have somehow activated a filter on my E-mail. I am running Windows 2000 pro with Outlook 2000 used for E-Mail. When I get new E-mail in my Inbox, after opening and reading the mail, if I simply close the mail out. It does not return to my Inbox.
In the upper right hand side of my Inbox, there is a statement "Filter applied" and in the lower left hand corner of my screen there is a statement "Filter applied" and a "Item" counter. After closing a new E-mail, the counter increases by 1. So I know the filter that is applied is saving the E-mail's somewhere. Can anyone tell me how to turn the filter off? Spunds like you are simply suppressing your Read messages. Click on View / Current View and see what the checkmark shows as the setting. It is probably set to Hide Read Messages. You can click on Show All Messages and Voila!
