EZ CD creator disaster
Nero refused to see our CDRW, so I tried this old copy of EZCDC5. Right after install, the desktop icons refused to load, after alot of troubleshooting and cursing, I finally found the files to delete (in sys32\drivers - not all files, just a few that this website told me EZCDC5 installs). After that, windows loaded fine, I was finally able to go into the add/remove programs and completly uninstall EZCD. After that, the desktop would load, but most of windows drivers would not load. Some driver is keeping most of windows drivers from loading. VGA inits just fine, but the sound driver, and a few of other drivers refuse to load.
The ONLY way I can get windows to successfully load is to go into safe mode, disable both Cd devices, and reboot in normal mode. After that, with both cd devices disabled, everything loads just fine. *note: a long time before this, I installed the latest version of Adaptec's ASPI layer (4.71.2). * also note, I tried roxizap OS: Windows 2000 Professional SP4 |
