Win2K Password
Is there a way to bypass the login prompt on Win2K? I have a friend who just networked a 2K machine to one with XP. After rebooting the 2K machine changed his default user name (from johnkl to jk) and even when entering the correct username and password he can't log in.

Welcome to TSF.
I'm not sure if I should post this link, but here is a program that might do the trick for you. See if it could find the password for the new username that was created. If the above does not work, see the instructions below (got it from another site): Quote:

If while booting up press F8 and select Last Known Configuration.
This should return the computer to the state it was in at the last successfull login. If that doesn't work just do a reinstalltion of Windows 2000 and the password will be what ever you set it to. http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;292175 I don't like to post links on ways to blank the password since they can be easily abused. |
