Win 2000 keeps installing already installed software
I have a Brother printer that uses Paperport. It's installed and working. But every time I boot up, in fact every time I click on any program, Win 2000 trys to install it again. Where can I disable the check Win 2000 is doing for this? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but same problem. I just want to get Win 2000 from looking for this program to install every 10 seconds.

Weird problem. Hopefully someone will know a cure. Can you d/l install any updates from Brother? How about talking to them? I've used their Contact tab on their support website and gotten help on some issues with my HL-1440 a few times. Someone always wrote back.

this is normally caused by a corrupt reg entry.
i would recomemend removing all the software, then having a look through the registry and deleting any entrys that remain. *BACK UP THE REG FILES BEFORE EDITING* once you have removed the reg entrys restart the machine and re-install the software.
